AHHA Remembers Stephen Rose

In early February, 2023 attorney and longtime friend and supporter of AHHA passed away. Stephen worked closely with AHHA and also individual hospitals and nursing homes across the state for years and was a major contributor to the betterment of Alaska’s healthcare system.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues.

A Message from Hall Render:

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Stephen D. Rose, an exceptional health care lawyer and a leader in the legal community. Stephen joined Hall Render as a Shareholder eight years ago when the firm expanded into the Pacific Northwest, where he served as Seattle and Anchorage Office Managing Partner. Before joining Hall Render, Stephen served as the Chair of the Health Care Law Department at Foster Garvey and as a Health Care Partner at K&L Gates. Throughout his career, Stephen demonstrated exceptional dedication to the field of health law, offering practical legal guidance and support to his clients.

Stephen's academic achievements were just as impressive as his professional accomplishments. He received his J.D. cum laude in Health Care Law from Whittier Law School, where he was a member of the Whittier Law Review and a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Research and Writing. In addition, he received an MBA in Accounting from Santa Clara University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Stephen will be remembered as a brilliant legal mind and a kind-hearted colleague and friend. He touched the lives of many in the health care community and will be deeply missed. Your thoughts and prayers for Stephen's family, his children and friends are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
