Foundation Health Partners’ Denali Center has earned the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) 2023 Silver – Commitment to Quality Award.
“AHHA is incredibly proud of the leadership and all of the staff at the Denali Center for completing the second level in this rigorous national quality improvement program,” said Connie Beemer, AHHA’s Vice President of Post-Acute Care and Finance. “They have repeatedly demonstrated a high level of quality care for their residents and are so deserving of this national recognition.”
The Denali Center is a 90-bed comprehensive short- and long-term care facility located next to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and accessed through a corridor connecting the two buildings. It is among 63 skilled nursing care centers, eight assisted living communities, and one dual skilled nursing/assisted living facility in 27 states that earned the Silver Award this year – the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The program recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care.
“Denali Center is honored to receive the Silver Quality Award,” said Administrator Tina Rein, RN-C, BSN, LNHA. “The award is built on the principles of the Baldrige Award and focuses on processes and quality outcomes centered on the facility’s quality alignment with the values, mission, and vision for the organization. The award is based on an environment where staff and residents thrive through placing people first and creating a life worth living for our staff and residents. I am proud of the work we are doing and the environment for success we have built.”
Silver and Gold awarded centers have better quality metrics, surveys, and staffing satisfaction than the rest of the nation. Earning the Silver – Achievement in Quality award requires a long-term care facility to achieve the Bronze - Commitment to Quality award prior to moving to the Silver level. Applicants adhere to the criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program to evaluate and improve their processes, creating a systematic approach that leads to and sustains positive results.
“I am incredibly proud of our remarkable members for this achievement,” said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “This recognition is a testament to their unwavering dedication, passion, and tireless efforts to deliver exceptional services, innovative solutions, and transformative care for their residents and staff. Their impact is undeniable.”
A list of all 2023 Bronze and Silver recipients is available on the AHCA/NCAL Quality Award website. The Association will announce the 2023 Gold Awards in August. All awardees will be recognized during AHCA/NCAL’s Convention & Expo, October 1-4, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.
